SEPL has ventured into the Artificial Intelligence to bring the benefits of the technology to the public at large. In this endeavor, we along with a team of technology evangelist have developed a state-of-the-art machine for the purpose Digital Pathology – Blood, & Urine (already developed and deployed); Bone Marrow & Cytology (developed and development under process) – an automated analysis, and for in-vitro diagnostic use in pathology laboratories using Artificial Intelligence. This AI-100 machine is a 100% made in India product.
Some of the salient features of AI-100 are:
- Principle: Works AI based image processing computing of results using actual morphology-based identification and categorization of cells.
- Sample Type Analysis: Multiple sample types analysed on the same device – PBS, urine, BMA aspirate, body fluids, Cytology and histopathology, AFB, gram stain.
- Quality check: IQ/PQ/OQ. Flags preanalytical quality indicators such as degenerated sample/ sub optimal smearing/ staining etc.
- Tele reporting, logistic, remote access & storage: Completely possible with a userfriendly tele-reporting platform for all possible smears in the lab and Digital image moves electronically. AI report is on a cloud-based platform which can be accessed remotely. Unlimited Storage.
- Differential % for WBC and platelet clump: Complete 7-part DC including IG, Blasts and NBCs are possible. Further visual evidence of smudge cells, reactive lymphocytes and cytoplasmic inclusions such as Auer rods etc. can be showcased to the pathologist making diagnosis easier. Platelet clump possible with visual evidence.
- Sensitivity & Specificity: AI-100 sensitivity is in 95%+ range. Please refer Annexure for specific details.
- Cloud based Digital Pathology: AI-100 stores all the data on a cloud making it easy to access & collaborate during pandemic times without the need for physical presence.
